Rector of KSU Inaugurates Expansion of Radiology and Medical Imaging Department at KSUMC
H.E. Dr. Badran Al-Omar, Rector of King Saud University, inaugurated the expansion of Radiology and Medical Imaging Department at King Khalid University Hospital in the presence of Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Muammar, Chief Executive Officer of KSUMC, Dr. Khalid Fouda, Dean of the College of Medicine, Mohammed Al-Rifai, Dean of College of Dentistry, and a number of department heads and directors of medical and administrative departments.
The expansion includes the latest X-ray imaging equipment, a CT scanner, a complete breast imaging unit with two mammograms and two breast ultrasound machines as well as a state-of-the-art stereotactic biopsy machine.
The expansion also includes a unit for angiography, catheterization, interventional radiology and imaging-guided biopsy.
The Head of Radiology Department, Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Hawass, said that the expansion will provide high quality services to a large number of patients and shall increase imaging capacity by 25-30% over the next few years, thus providing earlier appointments for patients.
