A Saudi Medical Achievement in the Field of Otorhinolaryngology Surgery at KSU
A Saudi medical team has accomplished a new medical achievement in the field of cochlear implantation at the Medical City of King Saud University by using “H2 forceps for cochlea”, which was invented in King Abdullah Ear Specialist Center (KAESC) at King Abdulaziz University Hospital in Riyadh.
“The forceps were made in Austria. It was designed to carry the poles of the cochlea by itself. Pointing out, this way enables the surgeon to insert the implant to the cochlea in easy way” Dr. Roaa Halawani, Ear, Nose & Throat (ENT) Consultant, said.
She indicates that “H2 forceps for cochlea” is considered as the 3rd device was invented by KAESC.
