King Saud University Medical City (KSUMC) is a tertiary, multi-disciplinary, and a level one trauma medical center with general and subspecialty medical services.
The importance of the services provided by KSUMC Blood Bank cannot be overemphasized as these services represent the backbone to many medical city critical services such as surgery, labour and delivery, oncology, and the emergency room.
Our blood bank team strives to achieve the highest quality in service and works tirelessly to ensure the safety of blood and blood components. Blood Bank depends on donors; therefore, we aim to revolutionize our donor recruitment and retention process through the enhancement of donors’ experiences and engagement of donor community among other techniques. Our goal is to reach 20,000 voluntary donations per year by the year 2020.
As we aspire to better the services we provide to our community and to meet the needs of our surgeons, physicians, and patients, we have introduced state of the art technologies that maximize harvest of blood components from donated blood.
