
Launching Awareness Campaign to Prevent Diabetes.. With The Participation of A Number of Schools
On Wednesday morning, November 1, 2017, Sheikh Abdul Aziz bin Baz Secondary School launches an awareness campaign of diabetes entitled " diabetes prevention". A number of secondary and Intermediate schools for both "boys and girls" contribute in such campaign in Riyadh that organized by University Diabetes Center at the Medical City of King Saud University and the School Development Unit. It was attended by Dr. Faisal bin Abdullah Al-Saif, Chief Medical Officer of KSUMC, Dr. Saad bin Abdullah Al-Abad, National Program Unit Director, to develop boys schools in Riyadh and Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed Al-Quwaihs, Director of the University Diabetes Center, Mr. Salman bin Hameid Al-Otaibi, the Director of the North Office, Dr. Miteb bin Safar al-Otaibi, the Supervisor of Campaign, Dr. Khalid bin Mohammed Al Melhem, Supervisor of Campaign by Education and Assistant Director of National Program Unit for the development of boys schools in Riyadh. In general, Campaign targets 40 schools for boys and girls at 10 schools per week and will be lasting for a month. The campaign includes awareness lectures by a group of health practitioners from the University Diabetes Center. As well as, a sample bag containing brochures and posters related to diabetes and how to prevent it. During the campaign, a device will be provided to check your blood sugar level through test strip by a teacher after being trained on how to use it.
