
Obesity Research Center Discusses Most Prominent Developments in Obesity Treatment
The Dean of the College of Medicine, Dr. Khalid Ali Fouda, opened the accompanying exhibition of the "Obesity and Diabetes: Modern Trends in Treatment and Research" workshop organized by the Obesity Research Center in the Outpatient Building at King Khalid University Hospital.
The Director of the Obesity Research Center, Prof. Assim Abdulaziz Alfadda, said that the workshop discussed several topics such as the types of fat cells and their role in maintaining the level of fat in the body, causes of adiposopathy that leads to obesity and its relationship with diabetes. The workshop also discussed modern treatments of obesity and the association of depression with obesity. The exhibition provided educational information on the causes of obesity, its complications and treatments as well as the latest surgical methods for treating obesity.
Prof. Alfadda concluded his statement by thanking the Dean of the College of Medicine for sponsoring this event, appreciating the role of the supporting bodies of the Obesity Research Center.
