KSUMC Launch Rheumatic Diseases Awareness Campaign “Towards a better life”

Under the sponsorship of His Excellency Dr. Badran bin Abdulrahman Al-Omar, King Saud University Rector,, Dr. Yousuf bin Abdu Aseeri, Planning and Development Vice Dean, opened the awareness campaign on rheumatic diseases activities under the slogan "Towards a Better Life". The opening was attended by Dr. Khalid bin Ali Fouda, Faculty of Medicine Dean, Dr. Abdul Rahman Al-Muammar, KSUMC CEO, and a group of doctors and university employees. This activity aimed to raise the community awareness about rheumatic diseases, ways of detecting and treating it. The audience took a tour at the exhibition corners, which provided information about the rheumatism disease and correct the societal concept about the symptoms and methods of treatment. Dr. Mohammed Ahmed Omair, an assistant professor at the Faculty of Medicine, Consultant of Rheumatology at KSUMC and the supervisor of the campaign, presented a detailed explanation of the exhibition and its contents. He pointed out that studies have shown that people with rheumatic diseases of all types may suffer permanent disability if they are not diagnosed and treated correctly.

Dr. Yousuf bin Abdu Aseeri, Planning and Development Vice Dean, said that King Saud University represented by the Faculty of Medicine and KSUMC is keen to establish such activities in the belief of the importance of educating the community about the importance of preventing diseases such as rheumatism and the importance of early detection and treatment. He stressed that this initiative will contribute to raise awareness about this disease, its causes and treatment methods.

It is worth mentioning that the campaign will move in the coming next weeks to be the main lobby of the University's in the female department, King Khalid University Hospital and King Abdulaziz University Hospital.
