Researchers of the Clinical Research Program Meet at KSUMC
The Clinical Research Program at KSUMC organized an open meeting with researchers of the Clinical Research Program in the presence of the Chief Academic Officer, Prof. Ahmed Bahammam. A group of researchers interested in clinical research from various health fields and clinical studies coordinators participated in the meeting. The meeting gave a comprehensive introduction to the program and the services provided and their assessment in a way that contributes to the development of the clinical research program in KSUMC. Moreover, the meeting reviewed the most important new initiatives that the program is developing for this year to advance this field at the regional level and make KSUMC a pioneer in the field of clinical research in accordance with international standards and regulations governing good clinical practice.
During his speech, Prof. Ahmed Bahammam, Chief Academic Officer, referred to the role of clinical research in advancing the field of medical scientific research, stressing KSUMC's commitment to enhance services that would promote medical research. Following that, the attendees discussed a number of proposals to develop services in this field such as attracting qualified Saudi candidates in the field of clinical research coordination, raising awareness and skills among researchers, and the role of this type of research in medical development and discoveries. At the end of the meeting, the attendees participated in a survey questionnaire on ways to develop the program to further advance this important field to better serve patients and support research and development.
