King Saud University Medical City Launches Pediatric Aerodigestive Clinic

King Saud University Medical City, represented by King Khalid University Hospital, has introduced a groundbreaking phase of medical, scientific, and research progress by launching its new "Aerodigestive Clinic" for pediatric patients. The clinic is dedicated to managing children with complex conditions that involve the upper respiratory tract, lungs, and upper digestive system, including concerns related to tracheal tubes and nutrition.

Dr. Latifa Al-Maqoushi, a consultant in Pediatric ENT Surgery and Assistant Professor at the University’s College of Medicine, highlighted that the clinic was developed specifically to cater to children's medical needs. It includes a multidisciplinary team of specialists, working in tandem to offer coordinated care for any required testing or procedures involving anesthesia. This collaborative approach aims to streamline medical processes and provide faster and more accurate diagnoses and treatments by adopting a comprehensive practice model.

The clinic incorporates a wide spectrum of specialties, such as Pediatric ENT Surgery, Pediatric Gastroenterology, Pediatric Pulmonology and Sleep Disorders, as well as expertise in Speech and Swallowing Pathology and Pediatric Nutrition. It also includes a clinical nursing coordinator to assist families in managing and implementing their child’s treatment plan, alongside a social worker to provide essential support.

The clinic boasts an esteemed team of physicians and health professionals, including Prof. Ahmed Al-Ammar, Prof. Tamer Al-Muslim, Dr. Latifa Al-Maqoushi, Dr. Mona Falbi, Dr. Anas Al-Turki, Dr. Abdullah Al-Masoud, Ms. Sana Al-Mane, Ms. Jawaher Al-Hamami, and Ms. Alia Al-Anzi.
