KSUMC Successfully Treats Child’s Unilateral Vocal Cord Paralysis
A medical-surgical team at KSUMC has successfully managed to treat a child suffering from unilateral vocal cord paralysis after undergoing surgery.
Dr. Latifa Al-Maqoushi, Pediatric ENT Consultant at KSUMC, explained that the child had a weak voice, and after performing the necessary tests, it was found that he had unilateral vocal cord paralysis. After studying the case, the surgical team decided to perform surgery to restore the laryngeal nerve by connecting the paralyzed vocal cord to a healthy nerve, noting that it is a meticulous and safe surgery with good long-term results.
It is noteworthy that KSUMC includes skilled medical staff and advanced equipment for treating vocal cord paralysis in children.
