Launching of the 2nd International Scientific Nursing Conference at King Saud University

His Excellency the President of King Saud University, Prof. Dr. Badran bin Abdul Rahman Al-Omar, launched the 2nd International Scientific Nursing Conference combined with the exhibition about: “Future Evolution: our imagination, innovation, and inspiration” at Hamad Al-Jasser Conference Hall in the presence of the KSUMC’s Chief Executive Officer, Prof. Ahmed bin Salah Hersi, with the participation of a group of local and international experts and leaders in the field of nursing from various academic and clinical disciplines.

The conference discussed many topics about nursing, such as technology and digital transformation in the health sector, training and development, strengthening transformational leadership, innovative care practices and supporting effective personal experiences gained during the COVID Pandemic, and.

Chief Executive Officer Prof. Ahmed Hersi welcomed the conference guests and participants during the opening ceremony. He said that this conference is important because the health sector is witnessing rapid development that calls for keeping pace with the evolution of the health sector in all aspects, the expansion in the provision of e-health services and digital solutions to improve the quality of health services in a way that enhances the satisfaction of beneficiaries by applying and following the best international standards in this field.

During his speech, he stressed the importance of supporting nursing development programs based on Vision 2030 under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. He added that this conference, organized by King Saud University, aims to facilitate the Healthcare environment further, develop capabilities, empower competencies, and enhance and bring the Kingdom to the forefront of developed countries in the health sector. Lastly, the KSUMC’s Chief Executive Officer expressed his thanks and appreciation to His Excellency the President of the University of this patronage.

The Corporate Director of KSUMC’s Nursing Affairs and the conference’s president, Prof. Yousef Al-Shamlani, confirmed that the 2nd International Scientific Nursing Conference is pursued based on the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 in developing the health sector and achieving the objectives of the National Transformation Program by improving the quality and efficiency of medical services and expanding the provision of e-health services and digital solutions. He also emphasized that KSU is a prestigious university with highly qualified medical colleges, medical training, and scientific research. Thanks to the attention and care of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz and His Royal Highness Prince Muhammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz to scale up healthcare and achieve the goals of the National Transformation Program in Improving the quality and competencies of medical services.

Prof. Al-Shamlani also emphasized that nursing is an essential pillar in medical health care which was evident during the Corona pandemic and played a safety valve against the outbreaks. Lastly, Al-Shamlani extended his thanks to His Excellency, the President of the University, for his sponsorship of this conference. He also extended his gratitude to the KSUMC’s Chief Executive Officer, the supporting sponsors, and the participating departments for their efforts.

After that, His Excellency, the President of the University, launched the exhibition accompanying the conference, which included many medical booths and scientific and research projects.
